Burns night is just around the corner, why not experiment with a whisky cocktail?
The Robert Burns is a classic cocktails that pays tribute to another of Scotland’s finest exports. A sophisticated mix that builds on the scotch-vermouth combination of the Rob Roy. The addition of absinthe brings in a contrasting flavour, though be sure to keep this accent to a dash, as it can easily overpower the drink.
It’s a Scottish tradition to celebrate the poet Burns’ birthday on January 25th of each year, and whether this drink was named for him or not, it is a fantastic choice for the evening’s libation.
Ingredients:
- 50ml Scotch Whisky
- 20ml Sweet Vermouth
- Dash Orange Bitters
- Dash Absinthe
Add ice into a beaker and add in all the ingredients. Stir well until the ingredients are chilled and the drink diluted. Strain into a glass.
