Today we’re celebrating all things Irish with a wonderful Green Goddess Margarita! #saintpatricksday

Saint Patrick’s Day (March 17th) is the feast day of St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, he was kidnapped at 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave.

History says he escaped and returned to convert the Irish to Christianity. By the time of his death on March 17th, 461, he had established monasteries, churches and schools.

Many legends grew up around him, including that he drove the snakes out of Ireland and used the shamrock to explain the trinity.

Today – we’re celebrating a little bit differently then normal (as we’re still at home in lockdown) – but we think this green goddess margarita is the perfect way to celebrate!

To make this delicious drink:

Fill a shaker tin 1/4 full of ice, add in:

50ml Tequila

25ml Triple Sec

25ml Lime Juice

50ml Green Juice (we like Naked Green Machine)

Shake well for 30 seconds and pour into a rocks glass full of ice. Dress with a lime wheel garnish and a sprinkle of edible gold leaf!

Slainte!
